This simple arrangement is one of a series of British folk songs for SAB (soprano/alto/bass) choir and piano.
The original song dates back to the days of Queen Elizabeth the First - the poem is by Christopher Marlowe and the tune is by Anonymous, found amongst manuscripts from that time.
Each verse (in minor mode) follows a series of key changes from F to C to G to D back to G and finally back to F
