"Happy" is part of the original motion picture soundtrack from the animated movie "Despicable Me 2". It is performed by the American singer, songwriter and producer Pharrell Williams and also appears on his 2nd album "G I R L" released in 2014. After a few successful music collaborations, including work with Daft Punk and Robin Thicke, Williams came to light as a solo star. The funk/neo soul song “Happy” with upper notes in Pharrell’s falsetto quickly gained popularity and was warmly received by both the public and music critics. It was nominated for the Best Original Song at the 2014 Academy Awards but lost the 1st prize to the “Let It Go” song from Disney’s “Frozen”. The song peaked at №1 in over 20 countries and begot numerous video covers picturing happy people from all over the world.

Although the musical peak of this song is over I get really surprised at how jumpy I get if I do get to listen to it occasionally on the radio now) I'm glad there are songs that are always pleasant to listen to and to play!

Was für ein positives und amüsantes Lied! :) Wenn ich nur die ersten Linien höre, gehen alle meine Probleme und Besorgnisse weg. Ein echtes Hymne des Glücks und fröhliches Leben. Kein Wunder, daß diese Melodie in verschiedensten Ländern so beliebt und populär ist – alle möchten ein bisschen Glück und Sorglosigkeit :)

it's been playing around for how long already? Why am I not getting tired of listening to this song! What a rarity. Whenever I hear it on the radio - in my car, or at faculty or at home - I immediately start doing that foot stamp-stamp kind of thing and silently clap when no one is watching hahah , am i the only one? )

That's after watching the Despicable Me 2 when I opened up William Pharrell to myself- such a bright artist and a huge music talent! His earlier works in duos are no less interesting than Happy and I truly wish him to keep bringing in more positive tunes like that! Also was a bit surprised to find out that he's over 40 - happiness makes you younger, hehe

This guy in a weird hat always makes me smile! In a good way of course. SO much positive energy coming from this happy Happy song that I could get charged for the entire day ahead! We even tried to make our own version of the popular-now Happy video with my friend, was so much fun )) Pharrell uniting the nations in a happy dance !
